Spring along the canal
Spring as is the season of course not metal spirals or leaping. With the blossom out and Mother Nature sprouting after the hard Winter it is looking really beautiful and lush along the canal near where i work so i thought i would take the office digital SLR out at lunchtime and take some photos. As its a much better camera than my own the photos look pretty good too.
One photo i am very proud of though is this one of a duck taking off. I'd never be able to take that with my cheapo digital camera. Maybe i should buy a DSLR then. Anyway the full Flickr set is here. Aims for this year
Well now i've finally got off my arse and done a proper canal walk this year its time to plan what else to do this year. I want to complete my travels of the Birmingham Canal Navigations this year. I am yet to visit the Walsall and Dudley Canals yet plus there are stretches of some of the other canals i need to visit, i also want to finally complete the parts of the Tame Valley Canal i have yet to visit. I also plan to pay some more visits to some non-BCN canals. Grand Union canal near Warwick perhaps. Well this blog post is mostly so i have some incentive to actually do all of this this year!
Titford Canal
It seems ages since i last did a proper canal walk, actually it is getting on for 4-5 months! Today i revisited the Titford Canal which i last paid a brief visit to last year on the end of my epic journey from Wednesbury to Oldbury. I went up as far as Uncle Ben's Bridge though found no rice. Once you get to the top lock you are at the highest point in the Birmingham Canal Navigations don't you know? Anyway the full photo set is here.
