Arms (10) : Leawood/Nightingale Arm

The derelict Aqueduct Cottage at the junction of the Leawood (or Nightingale) Arm with the Cromford Canal has seen better days. The Arm was built by Florence Nightingale's great-uncle to serve his lead mills but little now remains of it.

Cromford Canal

The Cromford Canal runs from Cromford up in the Derbyshire Dales to Erewash though most of the canal is currently unnavigable. At Ambergate as shown here the canal is watered though a lot of work needs to be done before any boats can pass through.
