Winter wonderland

Into the New Year and here is the Grand Union at Leamington Spa a couple of days ago.

Stratford ice (cream)

I went down to Stratford-upon-Avon yesterday (yet again) and very cold it was there too. The air temperature was below zero all day and the canal was frozen as you can imagine. No surprise that the ice cream barge was closed! You can see some more of my photos from yesterday here.

Ice returns

This morning i noticed the canal had frozen over for the first time this Winter (that i have noticed anyway), here is a photo from last Winter on the Birmingham & Fazeley.

I've been unwell the last week or so but feel better today and didn't really feel the cold (which is usual for me) so i took some photos along the canal to show just how cold it is. The canal is frozen over as you can see!

So Winter has come early, the Tame Valley seemed a bit iced up earlier in the week though Gas Street seems fine today... snow on the towpath though!
