Doors with a view

Its always nice to be able to open a door at your workplace and step out onto the canal, in my first job i could do this onto the Birmingham & Fazeley at Lionel Street. This door however is in Aylesbury and opens out to the Grand Union.

One of the junctions in the complicated connection between the Stratford and Grand Union Canals at Lapworth. This one separates the Northern and Southern stretches of the Stratford.

Lapworth

I've been meaning to go to Lapworth for a long time but for some reason or another i haven't until now, and what a great place to go canal walking! Two canals (the Stratford and Grand Union) meet, with a number of junctions, locks and connecting arms and not far away is the concrete majesty of the M40 bridge over the Stratford Canal. You can see my photos here, junction names have been taken from the Canal Planner website and hopefully i got the right ones set.
